WE-TECH Mobile App Prototype

Overview

To design and prototype your own mobile app using Figma. This prototype will include designed screens with connections that demonstrate how a user will navigate through your application via user actions.

Background

Technological challenges continue to rise causing the demand for assistance to increase as well. The process of fixing your phone, computer, or any device can be so frustrating, slow, and overpriced. At this moment, there is no universal app that allows you to fix your issues on demand and therefore there is a potential need for this in the current market.

Analyze Causes

As we dig deeper into the challenges observed, by asking why something happens will help discover hidden causes. This will eventually allow us to recognize the core motivating need for the solution.

  1. Users are having this problem ——> Getting frustrated wasting time on trying to resolve their tech issues.

  2. This happens because ——> Users don’t know how to go about these type of situations.

  3. This is because ——> Users don’t have a reliable service to fix their devices.

  4. Which is because ——> Troubling shooting over the phone is not the most ideal.

  5. And the result of this core problem ——> Most services only provide phone based service outside of the area.

This can be solved in my app by allowing a reliable, fast, and secure service that connects tech experts with users who require a more personalized experience. In other words, provide virtual and in-person hardware/software services.

Competitor Analysis

Analyzing similar applications in the market gives an insight towards what users prefer in regards to similar challenges.

  1. Reddit ——> Large variety of categories and subcategories consisting of wide audience and free service. More forum based and fully online. Disorganized and opinion based.

  2. Zendesk ——> Reliable support and rated #1 in Digital Customer service. Performance issues.

  3. Freshdesk ——> Customizable although expensive premium.

  4. Help Scout ——> Online forums, with quick conversations and support.

  5. Chat GBT ——> Fast, informative, AI based, all factual search engine based application. Free and premium version.

Collaborated with class members and faculty ensuring the feasibility and implementation of design concepts. Incorporating the “Add to Calendar” function prevents extra steps. Figure3 to Figure5 demonstrates how a user can store active service requests using Google Calendar. Professor approved of this feature resulting in 15% reduction development time.

Incorporating reviews for service technicians and jobs done will ultimately improve credibility, discoverability, and efficiency for the application. Almost all applications that provide services require ratings and reviews because it gives users better understanding and trust of the app.
